Top 5 Art and Design Apps in the US: Q1 2022 Performance

The first quarter of 2022 saw some interesting trends among the top Art and Design applications in the United States. Using data from Sensor Tower, we can delve into the performance of these apps across weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.

Canva: Design, Art & AI Editor showed a strong performance in Q1 2022. Weekly revenue saw a steady increase, peaking at around $1.4M in the week of March 21. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of approximately 226K in mid-January, while weekly active users remained consistently above 1.6M, peaking at about 1.8M in late March.

Ripl: Social Media Marketing experienced a fairly stable quarter. Weekly revenue consistently hovered around the $50K mark, peaking at $69K in late February. Downloads remained steady, generally around 1.4K per week, while active users saw a slight decline from 3K at the beginning of the quarter to around 2.3K at the end of March.

AI Art Image Generator – GoArt had a mixed performance. Weekly revenue started strong at approximately $17.8K in late January but declined steadily to about $6.8K by the end of March. Downloads followed a similar pattern, starting at around 18K in early January and dropping to just over 4K by the end of the quarter. Active users also saw a decline from around 15.7K in late January to about 6.8K in late March.

Adobe Express: AI Video Design showed robust growth. Weekly revenue increased from around $35K at the start of the quarter to nearly $61K at the end of February. Downloads saw a significant rise, peaking at about 80K in late March. Active users also grew steadily, reaching over 112K by the end of the quarter.

GoDaddy Studio: Graphic Design maintained a consistent performance throughout Q1 2022. Weekly revenue hovered around $70K, with a slight peak at $74K in early February. Downloads remained stable, averaging around 17K per week. Active users saw a peak of approximately 35K in late January but generally stayed around 25K towards the end of the quarter.
